Configure the warehouse layout

The layout is the digital twin of your real warehouse. Without it, articles can’t be parked in fixed places.

The structure at a glance

Warehouse (e.g. "Main")
└── Aisle (e.g. "A")
    └── Column (e.g. "1")
        └── Row (e.g. "top")
            └── Article

There are also free spaces (pallets, floor, staging) outside the aisle/column/row tree.

Steps

1. Open the warehouse → click Warehouse management.
2. Add warehouse — give it a name (e.g. “Main”). Multiple warehouses appear as tabs at the top.
3. Add aisle — a shelf row.
4. Add column — vertical sections inside an aisle.
5. Add row — the individual slots inside a column (top, middle, bottom …).
6. Add free space — for areas without shelves (pallet spots, receiving area).

Double-click any name → rename. Trash icon → soft-delete.

Tabs and the main warehouse

• Switch between warehouses with the tabs at the top.
• The warehouse with the lowest order (index 0) loads automatically on open.
• Double-click a tab → delete the whole warehouse (confirmation; grant this permission sparingly).

Notes

• Article placement happens in the article form, not in the layout. When you create or edit an article, you pick warehouse / aisle / column / row.
• Inventory counts run on top of the layout — count physically, correct variances.
• The 2D view is the bird’s-eye picture — helpful for new staff finding their way.
